As we start 2022 I wanted to take a quick minute and look back at 2021. What exactly resonated most with our readers in the year that was? It was a busy old year in fast food world, and hundreds of new menu items were releases; and of course, for science, we tasted a great many of them…
The following are our most read reviews of the year in reverse order. So what exactly got you guys most excited? Read on… no surprises… 2021 was the year of the chicken sandwich…
10 – Zaxby’s Signature Sandwiches

9 – Arby’s Traditional Greek Gyro Review

8 – Burger King Hand-Breaded Ch’King Sandwiches

7 – Popeyes Classic Chicken Sandwich

6 – Shake Shack Korean release

5 – Habit Burger Crispy Chicken

4 – Arby’s Boneless Wings

Towards the end of the year Arby’s took the unusual (considering the competition) step of *not* releasing a chicken sandwich. Instead these Boneless Wings hit menus. In effect bit sized copies pop their earlier tenders, but popular with our readers nonetheless.
3 – KFC Chicken Sandwiches

A popular review and for my money one of the standout chicken sandwiches of recent years. The KFC Classic Sandwich stands right up there with the very best – see our full review for more details.
2 – Popeye’s Chicken Nuggets

Taking their now iconic chicken sandwich and repurposing the flavors into nugget flavor, Popeyes turned a lot of heads with this Summer release. Everyone wanted to know, did they live up to the hype of the sandwich? Check out our review above to find out.
1 – McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Sandwiches

This trio from the Golden Arches was our number one read review of 2021 by some margin. The three sandwiches – Crispy, Spicy and Deluxe – hit menus at the start of 2021 and remained a popular release through the end of the year.
