Following successful test launches earlier in the year, Del Taco’s beef birria has now rolled out to menus nationwide. According to the brand the shredded beef is braised for two and a half hours as and “seasoned with traditional spices and chile peppers.” In total three dishes on Del Taco’s menu now showcase the new beef birria. The trio includes:
Two shredded beef birria tacos with consomé dip, $8.59:
- Grated cheddar cheese,
- Fresh grilled corn tortillas
- Shredded beef birria
- Diced onions
- Chopped cilantro
- Two fresh-cut limes
- Side of consomé
Shredded beef birria quesadilla with consomé dip, $6.79:
- Shredded beef birria
- Grated cheddar cheese
- Tangy green sauce
- Flour tortilla
- Side of consomé for dipping
Shredded beef birria ramen, $5.79:
- Beef broth consomé
- Ramen noodles
- Shredded beef birria
- Diced onions
- Chopped cilantro
- Fresh-cut lime wedge
In a press release issued for the launch, Tim Hackbardt (Del Taco’s CMO) remarked on a surprising fact about the launch stating, “With this introduction, we will not only be the first major quick-service restaurant chain to offer ramen, overnight we will become the largest restaurant chain in the country to serve ramen.”
