One major name absent from the Chicken Sandwich Wars – Taco Bell – and for obvious reasons right? The Mexican themed chain isn’t particularly known for its sandwiches after all. Well, that all changed this week when the massive brand announced their all new e Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco; is it a taco, is it a sandwich, is it errrr, yeah it’s definitely a taco.
The new menu item will be available only in a couple of test markets for the time being, Nashville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina, according to CNN. A bigger nationwide rollout should be coming later in the year though. so far news reports suggest the sandwich, sorry taco, will be priced at $2.49.
The new item will come with:
- Buttermilk fried chicken coated in tortilla chips
- Creamy chipotle saice
- ‘puffy’ bread shaped like a taco
A spicy version will also be coming with jalapeños too! We’re expecting more too from Taco Bell, according to national press, the group revealed via press release that the Crispy Chicken Taco Sandwich “isn’t only crispy chicken innovation arriving in 2021.” Watch this space.
