Pizza Hut is the latest to get on in the plant-based fun. The iconic pizza chain this month has launched two new meat free pizzas, reckoning themselves the first coast to coast pizzeria to do so.
In launching the duo of meat free options, Pizza Hut have chosen Beyond Meat to power the protein behind the new pies. The two new pizzas are as follows:
- Beyond Italian Sausage Pizza – Pizza Hut’s classic cheese pizza topped with plant-based Beyond Italian Sausage crumbles with a blend of Italian seasonings
- The Great Beyond Pizza – a specialty pizza with Beyond Italian Sausage, tomatoes, sliced red onions and banana peppers, served on Pizza Hut’s classic Original Pan crust
Beyond writes that the “Beyond Pan Pizzas are prepared by the same team members and in the same pans as Pizza Hut’s other meat and cheese pizzas.” and as far as we know do not use vegan cheese at this time. The pies are expected to be all limited time offer too.
