Check out this interview with John Li, Wendy’s VP of Culinary Innovation, it’s packed with interesting items. Most notably the huge brand has now released an all new fry, that they reckon is a world beater. Indeed this is the first time Wendy’s has changed the fry formula in more than a decade.
In Li’s interview with QSR magazine he states that, “culinary team has created a fry that is a nearly 2:1 preference versus Wendy’s primary competitor, McDonald’s.” Those are some pretty serious claims, McDonald’s fries being an iconic part of the fast food landscape – close to perfect I’d say – when you snag some hot and fresh.
Li tells QSR the update was more than two years in the making and part of the company’s new “fast food done right” approach where they seek to go beyond good.
We haven’t yet got our hands on the all new fries for comparison, have you? What do you think? Pictured above are Wendy’s previous fries and below, those magical ones from the Golden Arches.
