Update January 10th. We tested these out on the day or release. See what we thought of these meat free nuggets in our review.
Huge fast food news breaking today across various national food press – KFC will finally launch their massively hyped Beyond Fried Chicken across the whole U.S. on Monday, January 10th 2022. Previous limited scale tests have sold in amazingly quick runs; an initial popup Atlanta test in 2019 lasted just five hours before supplies were exhausted.
The long wait for this plant-based release is apparently due to lots of hard work behind the scenes. After that 2019 Georgia debut, a 2020 SoCal test followed, with a tweaked recipe aimed at better emulating KFC’s standard product. This test lasted a little longer, but only a week according to Restaurant Business Online. Beyond Meat have now devised a final product for the chicken chain, who in turn are apparently calling this “Kentucky Fried Miracle”.
On January 10th BFC will be available at all KFC’s nearly 4,000 locations; customers can order ala carte, 6 pc. and 12 pc as well as combo meals. Expect this one to go quickly, act fast if you want to try it out. Check back next week for our full review too.
In 2022 expect to see more plant-based moves from the big names in fast food land. The biggest one coming up is McDonald’s much talked about McPlant platform – also a team up with Beyond Meat.

I don’t mind admitting to a certain secret obsession with fast food as well – and that’s where Menu And Price comes in…
