French fries dominate the side dish section of fast food menus. While I love a curly, waffle, steak or regular fry as much as the next person, sometimes you just want a change. And that’s exactly what this option from The Habit Burger offers; indeed, a green vegetable nonetheless!
First, here’s a look at a typical order alongside the provided ranch dressing:
The batter on these beans is both the biggest plus and negative – depending on your viewpoint. The tempura is thick and very crunchy, exploding with every bite. It has a terrifically savory flavor, and is even better when dipped in the accompanying creamy and zippy ranch.
The flip-side of this though is that the fried shell completely dominates the flavor. The gentle taste of the interior bean is drowned out by the noise of the tempura. As I say that might actually be a plus point for you.
I found these a really enjoyable change of pace from the regular side order of fries; though part of me thought I was really ordering more healthy, I quickly realized this wasn’t the fact by the end of the deep fried tray. Still, it’s fun to tell yourself otherwise right 😉
